1.      Why were the children eager to see the sun?
Ans. The sun was rising after seven years. The children would experience it for the first time after becoming old enough to understand. So, they were eager to see it.
2.      What did the children do immediately after the rain stopped?
Ans. The children put their hands to their ears immediately after the rain stopped. They stood apart. They slid the door back and felt the silence.
3.      Why do you think that the children were feeling unhappy when it started raining again?
Ans. When it started to rain again the children felt unhappy because now the sun would vanish. It would appear again after seven long years.


4.      What were the children doing in the classroom before sunrise?
Ans. The children in the classroom were chattering. They were pressing to each other like roses. They peered out of the window to look at the hidden sun.
5.      What happened on Venus when the rain stopped?
Ans. When the rain stopped on Venus, there were no motion or tremor. It was only peace. It was as if, a hurricane had lost its sound.
6.      What did the children do in the jungle?
Ans. The children lay out laughing on the jungle mattress. They ran among the trees. They ran among the trees. They slipped and fell. They pushed each other and played hide and seek.


7.      How did the absence of the sun affect the jungle in Venus?
Ans. In Venus, the jungle lost its green due to the long absence of the sun. so, it developed the dull colour of rubber, ash and ink.
8.      How was the season of summer in Venus?
Ans. Summer would visit Venus every seven years. It would last there for an hour only. It would make the planet a blessed sea of no sound.
9.      What did the children do immediately after the sunrise?
Ans. Immediately after the sunrise, the children were released from their spell. They rushed out, yelling, into the summertime to enjoy the sunlight fully.
